Formuler Z mini is a new 4K Android 12 TV Dongle
Formuler today unveiled its first Android media streaming media player in HDMI TV Stick/Dongle format called Formuler Z mini. What distinguishes the Z mini media streamer compared to the Android TV dongles currently available on the market is above all, its interesting and unusual design. It resembles the design known from the Z11 series. The new Z mini media streamer from Formuler runs on Android 12 and is powered by Realtek RTD1325 SoC. Although little can be found about the chip, it certainly supports 4K 10-bit 60fps AV1 decoding. In addition to this, this small streaming player comes with an advanced Bluetooth voice remote control GTV – BT1.
Let’s start with the design, which is unusual. Without a doubt, the Z mini looks extraordinary. Like other Android TV Dongles in its category, it maintains a compact size. The latest media streamer from Formuler measures 83 x 60 x 12.5mm and can easily be connected via the HDMI port and hidden on the back of the TV. The device is powered by a USB Type-C port.
The heart of this little guy is the Realtek RTD1325 SoC, which we know little about. This may be an equivalent of the well-known S905Y4 SoC from Amlogic. Probably is a Quad-core ARM Cortex A35 CPU @1.70Ghz with ARM Mali-G57 MC1 GPU. This chipset supports 4K HDR, HDR10+, HLG, 4K 10-bit 60fps h.265, 4K 10-bit 60fps AV1 video decoding. According to Formuler, Z mini supports Quick Media Switching (QMS), which eliminates display lag when switching between different frame rates (FPS).
Like most streamers of this type, inside we find 2GB DDR4 RAM and only 8GB RAM eMMC storage. The whole thing runs on Android 12 with a pre-installed MYTVOnline3 media-viewing platform, which includes new features. MYTVOnline 3 application provides clean and stable streaming of content and features like universal search, user-friendly channel customization, modernized UI, and access to multi-connection. Additionally, they are equipped with embedded Widevine Level 1 / Level L3 DRM for content protection.
In addition, the Formuler Z mini OTT media streamer supports dual-band 2×2 (dual antenna) 802.11ac WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. The mini streamer is delivered with a power adapter, USB-C power cable, quick guide, batteries, and BT remote control with silicone cover.
